Week 59: October 1, 2018 - Testimony from the spirit

Dear Family,
Sounds like you all are doing well!!! Hopefully the sicknesses go away and Fall Break gives you time to rest!!!!! Thanks so much for your letters and love!!! You all are the best family ever!!!!
We had an awesome week!!!!!

We are working a lot with Alfredo and Maria right now. When we passed by earlier this week, and have been teaching more and more members of their family! We got to teach them all out in front of their house and they all were super excited and all wanted to read the different scriptures we were sharing. It was so cool!!! Ive been applying what mom has said to me with just focusing on love/charity and letting the spirit work through me, and that has been making a huge difference and made me a lot less fearful or stressed.

It was also a super growth week! I've been learning a ton with Elder Fogg and about what type of person I need to be. I'm learning a lot about how we can help each other grow and how I need to be more honest with myself in a lot of things. Elder Fogg is working super hard and finishing his mission like a boss!!!! That's been a huge blessing for me.

We also had an activity at the church yesterday where we played the Face to Face with Elder Cook. It was amazing!!! We didn't have a huge turnout with people, but it was still good. In the Face to Face, they talked a lot about the new "Saints" book that came out. It was super good and the questions they responded to were super interesting! I loved what our Branch President said to me and Elder Fogg after how when he found out about these things, it didn't affect his testimony. To others, it might have raised concerns, but he said how nothing could go against his testimony that he gained from the spirit. I really liked that. Of course no one can be saved in ignorance, but I loved the way he said that. It really shows the importance of being converted by the spirit rather than anything else.

Love you all sooooooo much!!! Have the best week ever!!!

Love,
Elder Barton
