Week 32: March 26, 2018

Meus queridos!!!!
How y'all doin!!!!
Man, this week was fantastic! We were super blessed this week with a baptism. Her name is Leandra and she was a golden investigator! It was super amazing!!!!
We actually met her through an indirect contact on the street. She had already started quitting smoking before we even met her, literally 2 days before we met her! We taught her once the day before last Sunday, she went to church with us and loved it, then we taught her again throughout the week and she was baptized this Saturday! It was super neat! We taught her with this one guy in our ward named Rafael this one night at the church. He served a mission in Brazil and they baptize like crazy there, so I payed really close attention to a lot of the things he did.
One thing I thought was super funny and awesome was at the end when she started asking how the baptism would go. Rafael told her to stand up and then literally took her step by step and practically baptized her in mid air! It was super funny and she just laughed super hard the whole time. At the end, my companion made sure to teach her about opposition and tried to help her stay strong.
The next day, she hurt herself at work and the mom called to cancel our visit. We told her that we would be right there to give her a blessing and she accepted. At the end of giving her a blessing and teaching her, she told us how she remembered what we had told her about opposition and she knew that she had to stay strong! It was soooo awesome!!!!! The neat thing was that she really wanted to see how a baptism would go too, and the day after, the other elders were having a baptism! So, it was perfect! She went to the baptism the day after and loved it! She even asked me what she had to do to become a missionary like us!
When my companion and I got home, we started going crazy and getting super excited for her! The next day, she was baptized. She was super happy the whole time and all the members were super nice and supportive! It was such an awesome week! I honestly felt just like an instrument in the LORD´s hands. I don't really feel like I did much. Just goes to show that it's the LORD´s work, not mine. I've really seen how the LORD will put people in our path or make things happen for us when we show that we are willing.
Short and sweet this week, but Love you all soooooo much!!!! Best family ever!!!! Thanks for always being such amazing examples to me!!!!
Love always,
Elder Barton

Fun to see how quickly the gospel can change a persons perspective on life!
