Week 67: November 26, 2018 - Confidence in God comes from good works

We had a super neat district council this week! We talked about our President's letter and I got an answer to my prayers about confidence in God. We talked about how confidence in God comes from faith and how faith comes from doing good works. I realized how if I wanted more confidence in God, I needed to do more good things and act on promptings more.

We also have been teaching Tiago more. He is so awesome!!! He is understanding everything super fast! When we teach, I notice how the Spirit just takes control and teaches so well!!! Way better than I could. I notice how I'm actually learning too during our discussions. We also had an awesome thanksgiving lunch!!!! We ate with the other missionaries and the Manns. It was so much fun!!! They even made a bunch of gluten free stuff for me!!! They are so nice!!!

I made some desserts for the meal too. I made no bake cookies and an apple crisp thing, yes, all gluten free!!!

I guess you could say Im becoming a professional cook;) jk jk
Elder Ray was pretty sick this week. We couldn't get a lot of work done. We ended up going to the hospital to get him checked out. He's doing better now, but he needs prayers!!!! He was super sick Sunday and still went to church and gave a talk!!! Such a trooper!!!
I also set a challenge to read the whole new testament this transfer!!!! Im really loving the New Testament and how much I am learning about the Savior.
We also got to have a film activity at the church last night. One member wasn't feeling well and excused herself. We and our Branch President went to see if she was ok. She was having a little bit of a depression attack. We gave her a blessing and she seemed a lot lighter afterwards.

President talked to her a lot after and really cheered her up. It was super neat! I think that whole activity was just for her.
Love you all soooo much!!!
Love,
Elder Barton

Love your letter Taggert. You are so thoughtful and sensitive to the spirit. I am learning from you. I ave been noticing the same from this reading of the BofM. Confidence in the Lord....listen and obey brings confidence. I love you so much. Love Grandma.
