Week 52: August 13, 2018 - Small sacrifices, big blessings

Hey there awesome family!!!!

Hows it goin?  Thanks so much for your letters and videos!!!! You all are seriously so awesome and thoughtful!!!! I'm just so spoiled with the family I have.

We had an amazing week! I learned a lot about trials. I saw immediate blessings from small sacrifices this week.

As we are outside walking, sometimes I get pretty hungry, so I thought it would be a super good idea to buy some snacks. I got this bag of honey roasted peanuts. As my companion and I were out walking, he told me he was pretty hungry. I thought about that bag of peanuts I had and without hesitating offered him the bag. I felt good about doing that. The next day, we had 4 meals with 4 different members!!!! That was seriously the most amazing, fastest miracle ever!!! We got home that day feeling super stuffed! haha!!! It was just super neat to see how with a small sacrifice like that, God would give us so many blessings!!!!

We are also teaching this one couple that is trying to get married. Once they get married, they can both be baptized! We went with them to this government center this morning and we are praying that everything works out for them. The woman was already a member and the man, Mario, is our investigator. He is so amazing and is always so willing to learn. At first, it seemed like he just wanted to talk with us just to make his soon to be wife happy, but now, we come back and ask him about the Book of Mormon, and he goes off about what he read. He pays super close attention to what we say and is so sincere with his answers and questions. He is truly a miracle to me and I am so excited for him!!!!

Love you all so much!!!! super short email!!! sorry!!! hope you all have a wonderful week!!!!!

Love Elder Barton
