Week 24: January 29, 2018
Hey there good lookin Family!!!
After pday, Elder Barrios still had to get some stitches taken out at the dentist. We talked to our neighbor about where to find a dentist and then went around the area trying to spot the dentist. We found one that was in the top of na apartment building. We came in and the lady asked what we needed. Elder Barrios was just straight up about it and then she took us into her working area and just started operating. She used a bunch of tools and even some numbing fluid. She got it out. We were expecting to hear a large number fo the cost, but she said just 5 € for the supplies! So cool! She said she knew what we did but she didn't want to hear it. Haha, she was super nice though!!! Super good person!!!! Wish she gave us a chance to talk to her about the church.
Later this week, we visited a super nice member family that will always give everything they have to feed us. The mom was inside a room talking on the phone and her kids answered the door and told us to wait. As we waited, Elder Barrios told some of his crazy stories of back home when he had to fight some people! He got the boy all riled up from his stories that the boy karate kicked the keys in the front door of their apartment and snapped the key in half with a huge chunk of it still in the lock. We had to get the broken key out or else the family couldn't leave their house the next day for church. The area they live in is pretty sketchy. We spent like half na hour trying to get the broken part of the key out. Eventually, I told Elder Barrios to turn the key lock the other way and then he pulled the key right out with a pair of tweezers. The boy was so happy afterwards when we got the key out! He was jumping and hugging Elder Barrios like crazy!
Lastly, this week was the last week of transfers, so..... dadadadadadadadadadada
I will stay here for another transfer and lead the area, but Elder Barrios will leave to another area. Im super happy to be staying here, but super sad to see Elder Barrios go. He spent a lot of this morning just packing getting ready to leave. He told me he is so sad because when he gets to a new area, he plans like he will stay there for the whole 2 years he is here. I thought that was pretty neat. We are trying to enjoy our last moments together. We will send him off tomorrow and another Elder will return with me.
Love you all soooo much!!!! Hope you all are doing well and that you know how much I love you all!!!!
Love,
Elder Barton
