Week 88: April 27, 2019 - The Good Part

Image
Dear Family, Hey y'all!!! Hope you are doing super well!!! We had a good week of work this week. We got to leave the office a lot more. I feel like we are getting better at that. It seems like things work out better too when we leave and put things in the office aside. The Lord always blesses us. There was something pretty cool that happened. We had to have some elders from an area pretty far away come down here to the office to take care of some residency stuff. The president of one of the districts called the office needing some information about one of the branch presidents. The elders from that branch, the elders that came here to take care of a residency issue, were here in the office when he called! I just gave the phone over to them and they helped out. It was perfect! So cool!!! It was a simple thing, but I need to pay more attention to the simple small miracles that the Lord does...His tender mercies. Those little things just continue and continue to add to my testimony...

Week 87: April 20, 2019 - Eternal Friends

Dear Family, Happy Easter!!! Wow, seems like time is just flying by!!! I hope you all are doing great and know how much I love you!!! Well, there are a lot of things that happened this week. It's hard to pick them all out!!! 😁 Sunday Afternoon, I got to go on a split with Elder Lopez, another missionary here in the office. It was pretty fun. We didn't have very many results form our work, but we just had a good time going out and going to work. There's just something fulfilling about doing the Lord's Work. We knocked a lot of doors. Elder Lopez had this idea to knock on doors and if someone just slammed the door on us without us even getting to talk to them, we would sing a hymn outside their door. I was a little apprehensive about it, but then again, I've never done it, and it would make a pretty cool story...so ya, we decided to give it a try.  We were a little nervous to do it at first, it took a lot of courage, but eventually, one guy shut the door w...

Week 86: April 12, 2019 - What Matters Most

Dear Family, I hope you all are doing fantabulous! It was a great week! First off, General conference was awesome! We watched it at President Fillmore´s house. The spirit was so strong in his house. I loved hearing the the speakers. I feel the spirit so strong when the prophet speaks. He always seems to attract all of my attention.  We got to go on more visits this week. I got to do a few visits with Elder Lopez which was tons of fun. We visited Ana and Cordêncio. Thats them in the picture below: Cordêncio is holding their baby girl Nataniela. They are such a cute family! We are working on helping them to be an eternal family. We had a neat lesson just reading the Book of Mormon with them. I feel like I need to incorporate the scriptures better when I teach. They are so powerful! I read in a manual about teaching like the Savior today that said how the doctrine in the scriptures never change, but the doctrines themselves change us. I thought that was super neat. ...

Week 85: April 6, 2019 - Elder From The Azores And The Temple

Hey Family!!!! Hope you all are doing well!!!  Great week this week!!! One member from the Azores, Francisco, came from to the mission office to be designated as a missionary and fly to Brazil to serve his mission. It was so much fun to be with him. I got to know him a little while I was in the Azores. When he got here, I got super excited!!! We had a fun time together. I missed our meeting with President Fillmore Monday in the morning to go and pick him up at the airport with Elder Garrard, one of the office couple missionaries. We got back to the office and President Fillmore had me come in to his office with him and Elder Garrard to see him be designated as a missionary. It was a super sacred experience. President said it was one of his most favorite parts of being a mission president, designating missionaries. The spirit was super strong! I felt super exited for Elder Ferreira, as he was designated that day. We got to go around and figure out some stuff for his Visa befo...
