Dear Family, Another amazing week here in the islands!!!!  I actually learned some pretty cool lessons this week. We were teaching this one couple, Lino and Mara, and for some reason, I was just so awkward with them. I remember just not feeling myself and basically reciting the lessons we teach. I wasnt being myself. When I did that, I didnt really enjoy missionary work like I had before. It felt lifeless. Elder Fogg talked to me about it and gave me a few ideas. I was thinking about it and just getting a little stressed thinking why it was so hard for me. We were out walking in an area called Riberinha, and I remember just thinking how I wanted to be happy in that moment. I started thinking of all the blessings I had and how much I wanted to please Heavenly Father. I suddenly got a huge burst of energy and enjoyed doing missionary work so much more! We actually had much more success and helped a lot of our friends become more excited about the gospel. It was a super neat exp...

Week 53: August 20, 2018 - Fasting with Faith

Well hello there awesome bestest family ever!!! Wow, first day of school!!!! Cant believe it!!! You all looked so good in your pics!!! My companion Elder Fogg leaned over and said how you all looked so clean!!! hahahaha!!! I thought that was awesome!! Awesome week this week!!!! We had a super neat miracle!!! We are teaching this one couple, Paula and Mario, who want to get married this month and be baptized as soon as possible!! We went with them earlier to the marriage place and the person there said that all the days were full but that they could try another time later during the month. We visited Paula and Mario and decided to fast with them. Paula already knew what that was, but Mario didn't. We explained and they both got super excited about it. We all fasted. Paula said that the fast was difficult, but that she fought on. She said how she had never seen Mario so dedicated to something ever before! They went back to the marriage place with high hopes. The lady...

Hey there awesome family!!!! Hows it goin?   Thanks so much for your letters and videos!!!! You all are seriously so awesome and thoughtful!!!! I'm just so spoiled with the family I have. We had an amazing week! I learned a lot about trials. I saw immediate blessings from small sacrifices this week. As we are outside walking, sometimes I get pretty hungry, so I thought it would be a super good idea to buy some snacks. I got this bag of honey roasted peanuts. As my companion and I were out walking, he told me he was pretty hungry. I thought about that bag of peanuts I had and without hesitating offered him the bag. I felt good about doing that. The next day, we had 4 meals with 4 different members!!!! That was seriously the most amazing, fastest miracle ever!!! We got home that day feeling super stuffed! haha!!! It was just super neat to see how with a small sacrifice like that, God would give us so many blessings!!!! We are also teaching this one couple that is trying to g...

Week 51: August 6, 2018 - Sem Recompensa

Hey there Family!!! We had a spectacular week this week! Elder Fogg and I have really been trying to find new people to teach this week. I tried really hard to pray with faith this week rather than just say things like going over a list of goods to buy at a grocery store. There are times where I pray and the moment after, I feel a confirmation that it will happen. I prayed that people would be presented to us and I honestly felt that that would happen. We went out, and literally, people where just presented to us by the members! So cool!!!! It was mainly this Sunday that was the big miracle day. I have seen how every missionary effort never goes wasted. We had some trials this week. People weren't there when we scheduled visits with them, people weren't following through with invites, and it seemed like Elder Fogg and I were running out of options. I'm not gonna lie, I was just so tired and exhausted this week. We walked a lot and just weren't having much happen. I read...
